I'm sorry if these are very obvious questions, I don't really have much of a clue about these things. I don't even know if I have these tools downloaded, I can't see them anywhere and I can't figure out in the VMware website which tools I would need to download for this particular host and guest. I have read that I need to install the VMware tools, but this option is greyed out in the menu.

I can't use the latest version of Fusion 11 because it is not compatible with my OS. using the standalone application (the migration agent would not work). Hi, I have recently -finally- managed to migrate a Windows 10 Lenovo laptop to my IMac (El Capitan) using VMware Fusion 8.5.

Would this be the cause for it being slow? If so, is there anything I can do? Would adding more external memory to the Mac be of any help? At one point in the past I had a Windows XP virtual machine running on the same Mac with no problems at all. VMware fusion 8.5 - Windows 10 virtual machine running super slow. I have allocated just 1 CPU core to it, as that is what the dialogue box seems to be happy with if I give it 2, it says it is too many. The problem now is that the virtual machine runs impossibly slow, to the point that I can't really use it.
